In August strides were taken to bring another four blockchain integrations to the ICON Cross-chain Framework. This month contracts were deployed to Sui mainnet for Balanced and ICON General Message Passing (GMP), with Stellar and Solana expected to progress to this stage in September and October respectively. Alongside the continued pace of integrations, we continue to optimize Relays for prompt delivery and have brought an additional oracle to ICON, broadening collateral options for Balanced:
🌐 Relay Optimization: We have dedicated significant effort to stabilizing our relay, which involved creating an internal dashboard to monitor messages post-optimization. If a message gets missed, we can now easily trigger its delivery. This is a common practice in our industry. Our plan is to eventually provide an external tool for general use, ensuring that in scenarios where a transaction gets stuck, users can manually prompt its delivery.
🚀 Relay v2 Development: The discovery phase for the next iteration of the relay has concluded, and we are set to begin development shortly. The next phase will prioritize security enhancements, including the operation of additional relays for increased decentralization.
🎉 Sui Integration Live: Sui integration is now live! The front-end work for Balanced has started, so expect updates from Balanced soon.
🛠️ Stacks Integration Progress: Our team has developed a Go loop SDK for Stacks to ensure core functionalities work as Balanced is implemented on Stacks. The majority of Stacks implementation is nearing completion, and testing will commence in the near future.
🪐 Stellar Audit Completion: Internal audits for Stellar have concluded. We are preparing to deploy contracts and connect ICON to Stellar on the mainnet in September.
🔍 Solana Audit Support: We are currently supporting the external audit team, ready to address any reported issues. Once the audits and subsequent fixes are complete, we will advance to mainnet. The audits are projected to span three weeks, and if no major issues arise, we anticipate connecting ICON to Solana in early October via smart contracts.
🔮 Oracle Deployment on ICON: A new oracle has been successfully built and deployed on ICON, offering access to many more price feeds. This will facilitate the onboarding of additional assets as collateral for minting bnUSD.
These updates reflect our ongoing dedicated efforts to enhance interoperability and ensure robust security across our blockchain integrations. We remain committed to transparency and diligence as we move forward with these integrations and enhancements to the ICON ecosystem.
With progress being made simultaneously across various integrations, we have updated the integrations milestone board to make it easier for the community to follow along.
