With so many integrations now available to Balanced, our focus this month has been on levelling up the infrastructure behind our connections to these different ecosystems. Through continued upgrades to the Relays we aim to boost performance, while rollout of the ICON Solver and core Balanced features to even more users bring a consistent experience across our network of blockchains.
🚀 Relay v2 Development
BSC has been successfully upgraded to Relay v2. Over the next six weeks, we will upgrade one chain per week until all existing networks are fully migrated.
🏗️ Infrastructure Upgrades
As we continue expanding our interoperable solutions, DeFi contracts, and solver capabilities, we’ve identified several areas where we can streamline development and improve NOL efficiency.
To address this, we have kicked off several infrastructure upgrades:
Relay v3 builds on Relay v2 improvements.
GMP upgrades to simplify integration.
Solver upgrades to hold more liquidity, allowing larger trades at better rates.
For the next three months, the focus will be on these infrastructure upgrades instead of adding new chains to ensure everything runs smoothly.
🧩 ICON Network Solver
January saw the addition of more assets on Arbitrum and Sui, which also revealed areas for optimization and refactoring to make the solver more efficient. This will be the focus for February.
At the same time, we are working on integrating Solana, Stellar, Base, and ICON into the solver, with a March target for completion. Moving forward, intent contracts will be developed alongside solver integrations, ensuring that every supported chain is ready for intents.
💧 Cross-Chain Liquidity Provision (LP) and Rewards
The Cross-Chain LP & Rewards feature is moving forward, allowing users to provide liquidity directly from their own chains. Injective users, for example, will soon be able to supply liquidity to the INJ/bnUSD pair without needing an ICON wallet.
This rollout is happening in three phases:

Complete – smart contracts have been deployed to mainnet.
Front-end launch is imminent.
🟡 Phase 2: Cross-Chain Rewards Distribution
Complete – smart contracts have been deployed to mainnet.
Governance votes are happening now.
Front-end launch expected in early March.
🔴 Phase 3: BALN Staking on Any Chain
Permanently paused – as we shift focus to infrastructure upgrades.
